But there has been progress nonetheless! This is a freshly repaired leading edge of my hardtop, welded directly to the windscreen surround for stiffness.
I’ve also finished the cladding on most of my parts shed :) just needs some doors in place and i can finish it off!

Looking good. How big is that parts shed going to be?

Thanks man :) the main section is a 9'x27' rectangle, but following the border of the property there’s a 13'x19' triangle tacked on the side :)
It’s currently housing two of my Spitfires, a GT6 roof and some shelving ready for parts :)

My project progress this week is mostly just working on my doors for fitting them up and the door posts. This is because raising the door thresholds meant relocating the lower hinges, and the door posts had to be extensively rebuilt due to rot. Anyway, I’ve got one door on and the other’s about ready. I need to have them in place to be sure I’ve got the a- and b-pillars straight before I weld the roll hoop.

What I should do, chiefly, is get both doors on and then roll it outside into the cold and take pictures there. Doors, midgate, repaired tailgate all in place, it should make for quite the
tableau.
Maybe I should even set it up with the Rover and the Lincoln in picture to better illustrate the extent of my madness...

Great job! How much welding does the roof/body/chassis still need?

Not actually a great deal (comparatively). I’ve got to repair either side of the hardtop just above the doors, repair two small sections where the quarter windows meet the bodyshell, and then I’ll get it up on the a-frame and box in the underside (which should be a fair bit easier than this fiddly external work, despite there being more acreage).
Then I can finally do something that’s not welding*!
*after I re-do my lower suspension arms at the rear because I haven’t got them straight...

Yes! That sounds like a great idea :) anything to make my madness seem a little less mad comparatively ;)

I’m sure that sounds like little weldting to you, quite a list though, haha.
What will you start with once the welding is done?
